The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested a suspect accused of selling the personal data of millions of Pakistani citizens online. Officials confirmed that a 1-terabyte hard disk was found in his possession. The device contained sensitive details such as national identity card numbers, home addresses, and other personal information belonging to citizens across the country.

Acting on his directives, the Director General of NCCIA formed a high-level committee to investigate the matter in depth. Suspect Identified as Bhakkar Resident
Authorities have identified the arrested suspect as Anis Ahmad Shah, a resident of Bhakkar. According to initial reports, a formal case has been registered against him, and a detailed investigation is now in progress. Officials revealed that the suspect obtained citizens’ data from the black market and later sold it through more than ten illegal websites that operated secretly across online networks.
