The Punjab government has imposed a monthly housing tax of Rs. 695 per household across 16 tehsils. This levy is intended to fund water supply, sanitation, and waste management in the region, meeting crucial requirements.

Monthly House Tax in 16 Tehsils
This tax will apply to residents in Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Chakwal, Pakpattan, Chiniot, Jhang, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Muzaffargarh, and Multan, affecting roughly 2000 villages in Punjab.
The caretaker administration has assigned responsibilities for water delivery and garbage management to a municipal enterprise.
This collaboration aims to provide residents with efficient and dependable services, making tax collection critical to the success of these programs.
Public Concerns
The public is concerned about the financial hardship it would place on already struggling households.
However, the administration claims that these monies will be transparently allocated to improve the quality of life for citizens in certain tehsils.
