The government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is committed to developing its major cities, particularly Dubai, into thriving economic and cultural centers by hiring new app developers.
Dubai’s leaders hope to make the city a global leader in the tech industry by capitalising on the estimated 230 billion app downloads that will occur worldwide in 2021.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, recently launched an initiative called “Create Apps in Dubai” to train one thousand UAE nationals in partnership with private sector firms.
Dubai’s goal is to become the world’s leading app development hub by tripling its current app developer workforce. The citizens of the United Arab Emirates will gain agency through participation in the Create Apps in Dubai initiative.
The country is planning to hire new developers for app production
In addition, by 2025, the programme hopes to have tripled the number of app developers. It has the ambitious goal of endorsing 100 national app production schemes in the next two years.
Developers working in fields as diverse as healthcare, education, and entrepreneurship were brought together by Sheikh Hamdan in an effort to foster communication and cooperation among those working on apps with a global focus.
With global revenues from smartphone sales exceeding $448 billion and the creation of two million new apps and games in 2021 alone, the mobile app industry is experiencing an impressive period of growth and innovation.
Recent years have seen a rise in this trend, as the industry has expanded at a rapid clip, creating promising new opportunities for business owners, innovators, and tech workers.
