Islamabad Traffic Police has introduced mobile facilitation vans from November 17 to 23, 2025, to provide easier access to driving licence and vehicle services. These vans will operate daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This move is designed to reduce long queues at offices and ensure residents of Islamabad can conveniently complete essential vehicle and driving-related documentation close to their homes.
Services Offered by Mobile Vans
The vans will offer multiple services, including driving licence renewals, duplicate licences, learner permits, and international driving permits. They will also assist citizens in obtaining character certificates and handling vehicle documentation. ASI Younas will supervise the operations. Citizens seeking guidance can call the ITP helpline at 1915, ensuring they receive proper information before visiting the mobile units for any documentation or licensing services.
Guidelines for Citizens
Authorities have urged citizens to carry their original CNIC and vehicle registration papers when visiting the vans. Queue discipline is also emphasized to ensure smooth and efficient service. Islamabad Traffic Police aims to maintain order while providing these mobile services. By following these simple instructions, residents can save time, avoid overcrowding at offices, and benefit from quick and organized assistance throughout the week-long initiative.
Daily Locations Across Islamabad
Each day, the mobile vans will be stationed at different locations across Islamabad. They will cover areas such as Zero Point, Faizabad, NUML University, and Parliament House. The “PS on Wheel” unit will complement these services by moving to key points daily. This approach ensures that both residential and commercial areas receive coverage, making government services accessible to a larger number of citizens without requiring them to travel long distances to central offices.
Citizen-Centric Approach
This initiative highlights the Islamabad Police’s focus on citizen-centric services. By bringing licensing and vehicle documentation closer to residents, the police aim to improve convenience and efficiency. It reflects a broader commitment to easing access to government facilities, promoting orderly public service, and supporting urban mobility management. The mobile facilitation vans are a step toward modern, responsive, and accessible policing in the capital city.
Encouraging Residents to Participate
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this service during its operational period. By planning their visit according to the daily locations, citizens can avoid long waiting times and complete their documentation efficiently. This initiative not only simplifies routine procedures but also demonstrates the police’s proactive approach to public service, ensuring that essential government processes are within reach for everyone in Islamabad.
A Model for Modern Public Service
The mobile facilitation vans represent a practical solution to improve public service delivery. By combining mobility with efficient management, the Islamabad Traffic Police is setting a model for other cities. Citizens can now experience timely, convenient, and organized services without the hassle of visiting crowded offices. This project reinforces the importance of innovative, people-focused measures in enhancing the quality of government service across urban centers.
