The second match of the day in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine, scheduled between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators in Rawalpindi, has been called off due to persistent heavy rain.
The match, which was supposed to start at 7:00pm with the toss half an hour before, had to be called off since the covers remained on the pitch at Pindi Cricket Stadium, and there were big puddles covering the outfield.
Earlier today, the PSL season nine match between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi was also cancelled in Rawalpindi due to heavy rain and a sloppy outfield.
Following severe rains in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, the stadium was covered. When the rain stopped, the coverings were removed, allowing the ground personnel to begin drying the pitch.
