The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) agenda against Pakistan cricket is no secret, as the neighboring country has used its influence to malign cricket in the country over the past few years. The BCCI’s antics were exposed once more when their Vice-President, Rajeev Shukla, responded to a tweet by Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Imran Khan.
Shukla took PM Imran’s tweet about the current political situation out of context when he demanded that the International Cricket Council (ICC) investigate match-fixing in Pakistan cricket.
PM Imran had congratulated the Men in Green on their outstanding performance in the second Test against Australia in his initial tweet. He went on to say that he couldn’t watch the game because he was too preoccupied with Pakistan’s political unrest.
The cricketing community was outraged by Rajeev’s uncalled-for response to the tweet, and they mocked the BCCI vice-president for his careless post.
Former Minister in the Government of India has since deleted the tweet and covered up his agenda by claiming he was being sarcastic because it was the eve of Holi, a festival known for its humor and colors.
