The arrest of former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has been declared ‘legal’ by the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Imran’s Arrest made Legal
According to details, the reserved verdict was announced by the Islamabad High Court, and the Interior Secretary and IG Islamabad were issued contempt court notices.
Justice Aamer Farooq, Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), heard the petition challenging Imran Khan’s arrest.
The prosecutor general and the Director General (DG) of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) appeared before the Supreme Court.

The NAB officials stated that they had written a letter to the interior ministry requesting the arrest of the PTI chief.
Nobody is above the law, according to the IHC CJ. He also stated that lawyers were injured as a result of the chaos in the high court.
The IHC CJ also stated that the court is determining whether Imran Khan’s arrest is legal or illegal. “What law allows the authorities to arrest someone on the grounds of the Supreme Court?”
The IHC CJ reserved the decision, which will be announced shortly.
Following the former prime minister’s arrest from the high court grounds, the Islamabad High Court summoned the Director General and Prosecutor of the National Accountability Bureau.

Justice Farooq ordered the government to immediately notify the court of the arrest and the case in which Imran was detained.
It is worth noting that Imran Khan was arrested in the Al-Qadir Trust case by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Rangers personnel acting on a warrant issued by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) apprehended the PTI chief from the premises of Islamabad High Court, where the former premier had gone to seek bail in multiple cases filed against him.
Khan’s warrants were issued on May 1 by NAB chairman Lt Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmad Butt, according to the NAB notice.
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Twitter that Imran had failed to appear in court despite receiving several notices in the investigation.
“The arrest has been conducted by the National Accountability Bureau for causing losses to the national treasury,” he said.
According to preliminary reports, the PTI chairman has been taken to the Rawalpindi office of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
