The International Defence Exhibition and Seminar 2022 (IDEAS) has begun in Karachi. The 11th edition of the defence exhibition will be held at the Karachi Expo Center from November 15 to 18.
IDEAS is a defence exhibition held every two years. It is a Ministry of Defense Production initiative, supported by the Pakistan Armed Forces, organized by the Defense Export Promotion Organization, and endorsed by the Pakistan Trade Development Authority.
The Pakistan Armed Forces, the national and international defence industry, OEMs, entrepreneurs, and high-level national and international defence delegations have all expanded their participation in IDEAS 2022.
The new features are intended to make IDEAS a more useful platform for both defence buyers and sellers.
The opening ceremony was attended by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and foreign dignitaries.
In his remarks at the event, FM expressed his delight that a large number of guests, including honourable delegates, exhibitors, and trade visitors, had travelled to Pakistan from all over the world.
FM associates such gratitude with the country’s desire to foster and promote strategic ties with partners and friends, while also encouraging technological proof and knowledge sharing.
The exhibition features over 500 companies from China, Turkey, North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. Additionally, nearly 300 delegates from 64 countries are attending the exhibition.
General (r) Pervaiz Musharraf, former President and Chief of Army Staff (COAS), founded IDEAS, which held its first edition in 2000.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, IDEAS 2020 was cancelled. The previous IDEAS exhibition took place in 2018. IDEAS 2018 was attended by 45 countries.
