During video chats on Instagram and Messenger, users can now also utilise avatars, as stated by Meta. Meta claims that the update will allow anyone to participate in video calls even if they aren’t fully prepared for it.
Meta stated in a blog, “We’ve all been there: A call comes in but your hair looks like a hot mess.” “Or you’ve simply been rewatching From Scratch and weeping your eyes out the whole time. We can’t always be photogenic. What if, in addition to turning the camera on or off, there was a third option that allowed you to feel like you were more involved in the call? Toon in using your Meta Avatar.
To make the video call feel more real and expressive, Meta’s avatars will express the users’ facial expressions and lip movements. The updated features may be found on both iOS and Android devices. Meta also announced that users may now apply animated avatar stickers to Instagram Stories, Facebook Reels, Facebook comments, and Instagram Messenger one-on-one conversations. In addition, the video embedded in Meta’s blog post demonstrates that users can adopt animal personas, such as a dog, cat, owl, llama, etc.
