Mark Zuckerberg just unveiled Threads, an app designed to compete with Twitter. Threads allows users to have and participate in public discussions through the use of text-based updates. In addition to like and commenting on posts, users may also repost and share them. Users of the app can publish textual content up to 500 characters long and video up to 5 minutes in duration.
Users may quickly get started with Threads by logging in with their existing Instagram account. You may personalise your Instagram profile for the app while keeping your existing handle and verification from Instagram. Users can also add a link to a post in their Instagram story or distribute the link elsewhere.
Many people became curious about the app after hearing about it and signed up to check it out. Deleting the associated Instagram account is a must to ‘deleting’ your Threads profile.
Deactivating your account will hide all of your activity on Threads, including replies and likes, until you decide to activate it again. If you decide to deactivate your app’s profile, it will not affect your Instagram account or destroy any of your apps data. A user’s Instagram account and app’s data will be intact even after they deactivate their account, the firm assures.
Follow these simple steps to permanently delete your Threads account:
To access your profile, follow these steps:.
- Tap profile in the bottom right to go to your profile
- Tap settings in the top right.
- Tap Account, then tap Deactivate profile.
- Tap Deactivate Threads profile, then confirm your choice.
Important considerations when using Threads
- Your profile will be removed along with your Instagram account if either is deactivated.
- Only once per week can an active account be disabled.
Meta has a ‘Supplemental Privacy Policy’ that explains how to delete your apps account at any moment. To be clear, if you remove your Instagram account, you also delete your profile along with it.
