Honor has launched a new budget 5G smartphone in India. The Honor Play 30 Plus is the company’s affordable 5G smartphone. The device comes with entry-level specifications for a 5G phone. However, it sports a premium design, similar to what we have seen on the Honor 60 series. The phone has a pill-shaped camera module, inside which are two large circular rings. One of the two rings houses the LED flash and the secondary lens. There is no word on whether the device will launch in other markets outside China. Honor Play 30 Plus price
Honor Play 30 Plus launched in China comes in three storage options. The base 4GB RAM option has 128GB of internal storage and is priced at CNY 1,099 (roughly Rs 13,100). There is also a 6GB RAM variant priced at CNY 1,299 (roughly Rs 15,500). The 8GB RAM option comes with a price tag of CNY 1499 (roughly Rs 17,900). All three variants offer 128GB of internal storage.
The device comes in four colours – Black, Blue, Gold and Silver.
Specs and features
The Play 30 Plus 5G has a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC under the hood. It comes with up to 8GB of RAM. The phone packs a 5000 mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support. The company is offering 128GB as standard. Users can expand the storage via a microSD card.
On the back, there is a dual-camera setup. The phone has a 13MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there is a 5MP front camera inside the waterdrop notch.
The phone sports a 6.74-inch TFT LCD with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. It has a TÜV Rheinland certification and a 90.7 percent screen-to-body ratio. The screen comes with a 90Hz refresh rate as well. The Play 30 Plus runs Android 11-based Magic UI 5.0 out of the box. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, support for dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, etc.
