HEC Launches Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor to Boost Academic Cooperation

Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission has opened a new chapter in regional ties by launching the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor in Dhaka. This moment occurred during the Pakistan Higher Education Expo 2025, where large crowds demonstrated a strong interest in learning opportunities. The corridor aims to help students and teachers from both countries connect, share ideas, and build trust for a brighter academic future across the region.

Purpose of the Knowledge Corridor

The new corridor is designed to expand student exchange, create scholarship paths, and bring Bangladeshi learners closer to Pakistan’s universities. Organizers said the interest seen at the expo showed how both nations are ready for deeper cooperation. The project hopes to make education more accessible while giving students more chances to explore fields that support development, innovation, and long-term regional friendship.

Ceremony and Key Attendees

The launch took place with support from the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka and gathered many dignitaries from both nations. Among them were Dr. Md. Fakhrul Islam from the University Grants Commission and several Vice Chancellors. Chief guest Mr. Md. Mahbub-ul-Alam called the move a strong step for empowering youth. He said Pakistan’s effort would help Bangladesh meet its growing needs in skills, learning, and future-ready training.

Pakistani Universities Represented

Fifteen leading Pakistani universities joined the HEC delegation, meeting thousands of students, teachers, and families. Their stalls remained busy as visitors asked about courses, campus life, and research areas. Officials highlighted that the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship Programme stayed a major attraction and now forms a key part of the corridor. This scholarship encourages Bangladeshi students to pursue higher studies in Pakistan with strong support and guidance.

Academic Vision Shared at the Event

An HEC official said the initiative opens a new academic bridge between Pakistan and Bangladesh. He noted the corridor would support research teams, help universities form partnerships, and allow students to move easily between the two countries. This vision aims to build trust and cooperation. It also gives young people hope by offering them the chance to access quality learning that can shape future careers.

Public Response and Growing Interest

Visitors at the expo praised the strong presence of Pakistani universities. They said the event helped them better understand the opportunities available. Educators and parents expressed appreciation for the scholarships and the personal interaction with university teams. The welcoming environment built a sense of goodwill. Many said the corridor could guide talented youth toward new paths and unlock chances that may not have been reachable before.

Upcoming Outreach in Bangladesh

Following the successful event in Dhaka, the delegation will travel to Chittagong, Rajshahi, and Sylhet. These visits will share details about admissions, programmes, and university life. Outreach teams aim to reach even more students and explain how the corridor can support their goals. This series of visits is expected to build awareness, answer concerns, and connect young people with educational opportunities.

A Future of Shared Academic Strength

The Knowledge Corridor is expected to reshape how both nations work together in the years ahead. By supporting cooperation, shared research, and student movement, it holds the promise of lasting benefits. Leaders hope it will strengthen long-term ties and help the youth of Pakistan and Bangladesh grow with new confidence. The project stands as a symbol of shared hopes and a steady path toward progress.
