The federal government approved a 50% increase in the daily travel and mileage allowances for all personnel performing official duty, which is good news for all civil servants.
The Finance Division announced a significant increase of 50% in daily travel and mileage allowances ending before the few days of the government tenure.
Grades 1 through 4 are eligible for Rs. 1,200 per day, while Grades 12 through 16 will receive Rs. 2,160, Grades 5 to 11 will receive Rs. 1,320, and the top travel reimbursement for Grades 17 and 18 is now Rs. 3,840 with the new allowance in place.
Individuals in grades 19 and up receive a daily allowance of Rs. 4,920; grade 22 employees receive a daily allowance of Rs. 7,200; and grade 21 employees receive a daily allowance of Rs. 6,000.
With a new increment, the cost of transportation has also been modified, with a 50% increase in fees for vehicles and two-wheelers.
In the meanwhile, personnel in Grades 17 and higher will only be compensated for actual out-of-pocket air travel expenses, and the cost of transporting personal effects upon retirement or transfer has increased to Rs. 0.03 per kilogram per kilometer.
Specific stations, including well-known cities and towns across the nation, will be subject to the new daily allowance prices. The regular daily allowance rates have also been raised by 50% for other outstations.
Meanwhile, people stationed in specific cities including Lahore, Hyderabad, Karachi, Sukkur, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Quetta, Sargodha, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Gwadar, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad and Mirpur in Azad Jammu and Kashmir will get these increment.
For additional stations, grades 1 through 4 will receive Rs. 744, Rs. 936 for grades 5 through 11, Rs. 4,200 for grades 21 and 22, Rs. 3,720 for grades 19 and 20, Rs. 3,001 for grades 17 and 18, and Rs. 1,680 for grades 12 and 16.
