People on the internet are concerned when a Google bug started displaying the Pakistani Rupee’s exchange rate for the US Dollar (USD to PKR) as Rs. 192.95 on September 21, 2022. The local currency hasn’t recovered, though, and Google’s error in reporting the erroneous conversion rate is all that’s happened.
It is important to note that on September 21, 2022 (Wednesday), the Pakistan Rupee (PKR) went as high as Rs. 237.80 during intraday trading before closing at a record low of Rs. 192.95 versus the US Dollar (USD).
As concerns about Pakistan’s economy grow in the midst of the current political turmoil in the nation, the Pakistani Rupee has been among the worst performing currencies in the world, losing about 8% of its value versus the US Dollar in the most recent trading week.
In the meantime, with inflation at its highest point in more than a decade, the foreign reserves have decreased to below $10 billion.
However, a Google bug that displayed the current rate as Rs. 192.95 left the public confused regarding the Pakistani Rupee’s exchange rate for the US Dollar (USD to PKR).
