The federal government has agreed to examine the National Sports Policy, which would subsequently be given to the federal cabinet for approval, according to Ehsan Ur Rehman Mazari, Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination.
Ehsan told the reporters at the most recent Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) executive board meeting that the decision was made to establish an election commission within a month for sports federation elections.
The minister continued by announcing that they will look into the allegations made against the previous director general of the Pakistan Sports Board and that he had been fired from his position.
The discussion with the president of the Asian Football Confederation was productive, the minister continued. “The Pakistan Football Federation matter has been highlighted with FIFA and AFC.”
Ehsan was pleased with the cricket team’s performance as well. He said that while England played fantastic cricket in the championship game, the Men in Green played admirable cricket the entire time.
He said in answer to a query, “Funds would not be distributed till the Pakistan Football Federation elections are held. It may have a significant impact on Pakistani football promotion.
