The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has exceeded the Rs. 44 billion tax collection target set for the first quarter of the current fiscal year (FY24).

The FBR will release revised tax collection figures by the end of the current month. Despite the fact that there are only two days remaining in the month, the tax collection target for both September and the first quarter has been met.
FBR Tax Collection for Q1 of FY 2023-24
The tax collection for the first quarter (July-September) of 2023-24 is currently at Rs. 2,022 billion, compared to a target of Rs. 1,978 billion, representing Rs. 44 billion increase.
In September 2023, the revenue agent had already collected Rs. 815 billion versus the target of Rs. 795 billion, a Rs. 20 billion increase.
