Expo 2020 Dubai has announced its sponsorship of the 2022 Camel Racing Festival in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, celebrating the unifying power of sport and highlighting a historic Emirati culture.
Mohamed Eisa Al Ansaari, Vice President – Communications, Expo 2020 Dubai said, “Expo 2020 Dubai is proud to be sponsoring the Camel Racing Festival in Dubai and Abu Dhabi this year. Sport is an important connecting point across communities, and our involvement in these races allows us another opportunity to connect with our Emirati audience and highlight the unique mix of cultural, educational and sporting experiences on offer at Expo 2020 Dubai.
“We look forward to working with the UAE Camel Association and Dubai Camel Racing Club and to delighting our home audiences even more in the final two months of Expo 2020 Dubai.”
The Dubai Camel Racing Festival, part of Expo 2020, kicks off on Saturday, January 29 and goes until February 2nd. Several events will be held at the Al Marmoum Camel Race circuit in Dubai and the Al Wathba track in Abu Dhabi, with races open to the public and broadcast on the Dubai Racing Channel and YAS Channel.
Prizes for race winners will be awarded at Expo 2020 Dubai during a ceremony at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre at a later date. During the festival, Expo 2020 Dubai branding will be seen on tracks, flags, and banners.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO) Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage includes camel racing, which is part of Expo 2020 Dubai’s celebration of the UAE’s diverse traditions.
Expo 2020 is open to visitors from all over the world until March 31, 2022, and invites them to participate in the creation of a new world through a six-month voyage of human creativity, innovation, progress, and culture.
