Electric cars Pakistan July 2026 is a phrase buyers are searching right now, and for good reason. Four new electrified Chinese models are landing in showrooms this very month, covering everything from a budget city sedan to a rugged off-road range-extender SUV. If you have been waiting to go electric or hybrid, this is the month to pay attention.

Why July 2026 Is a Historic Month for Pakistan’s Auto Market

Pakistan’s auto sector is on track to add 23 new vehicle models between June and December 2026, with nearly 87 per cent of them electrified. That is an extraordinary shift for a market that until recently was dominated by petrol Corollas and Cultuses. July alone accounts for four of those launches, making it the single busiest month of the year for new electric and hybrid arrivals.

The driving force is Chinese brands. Companies including Changan, Deepal, Jaecoo, and Nevo are pushing into Pakistan through partnerships with local assemblers and distributors. High fuel prices at home and a growing middle class that wants lower running costs are pulling buyers their way.

One thing most coverage misses is a plain-language explanation of the three powertrain types you will hear about this month. Here is a quick guide before we look at each car:

  • EV (Electric Vehicle): Runs purely on a battery. You charge it at home or at a public charger. No petrol at all.
  • PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle): Has both a petrol engine and a battery you can charge externally. You can drive short distances on electricity and switch to petrol for longer trips.
  • REEV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle): Drives only on an electric motor, just like a pure EV. But it also carries a small petrol engine that acts only as a generator to top up the battery. You never run out of range on a long motorway run, which is ideal where public chargers are still scarce.

That last point matters a lot for Pakistan. For buyers in cities without reliable charging infrastructure, a REEV removes the biggest fear about going electric.

Electric Cars Pakistan July 2026: The Four New Arrivals

1. Jaecoo J8 PHEV: The Flagship Seven-Seater

The Jaecoo J8 PHEV is the most premium of the four. It is a large D-segment SUV that seats seven in a 2+3+2 layout, with a 2,820 mm wheelbase that gives proper legroom across all three rows. NexGen Auto, a subsidiary of the Nishat Group, is bringing it to Pakistan. The brand already has the Jaecoo J7 PHEV in the market, and the J8 sits at the very top of their lineup.

The PHEV powertrain pairs a turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor, producing over 530 hp in combined system output. Think of it as a luxury SUV that can run on electricity for city errands and switch to petrol when you head to Murree for the weekend. Expected price is in the range of Rs 1.3 crore to Rs 2.5 crore depending on the final variant mix, placing it firmly in the premium segment alongside the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento. Official pricing has not been confirmed yet.

2. Nevo Q05 REEV: The Practical Family Crossover

The Nevo Q05 is a C-segment crossover from Changan’s Nevo sub-brand. The version coming to Pakistan is the REEV variant, built specifically for overseas markets where charging networks are still developing. The petrol engine in this car never turns the wheels directly. It only generates electricity for the battery, so the driving feel is always smooth and electric.

Globally, the Q05 uses a 51 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of around 480 km under the NEDC test cycle. In REEV form, total range stretches significantly beyond that figure because the petrol generator keeps the battery topped up. Pakistan’s Q05 REEV is expected to have a total range of over 1,200 km on a full tank and full charge, making long drives to Lahore or Peshawar stress-free. The car launched in China at the equivalent of about Rs 3.3 million, though local pricing with taxes and duties will be higher.

3. Deepal G318 REEV: The Off-Road Machine

The Deepal G318 is the most unusual car on this list. It is a rugged, body-on-frame style SUV with a REEV powertrain and a claimed total range of around 963 km. Think of it as an electric Land Cruiser rival. It is built for buyers who want to go off-road in northern Pakistan but also want electric driving in the city every day.

Deepal is a sub-brand of Changan, and it has already made a mark in Pakistan with the S05 and S07 models. The G318 is its most off-road-focused product yet. Pricing has not been announced, but it will sit well above the entry-level Deepal models given its size and technology.

4. Nevo A06 EV: The Pure Electric Sedan

The Nevo A06 is the only pure battery-electric car in this month’s group. It is a mid-size sedan with an estimated range of around 510 km on a single charge. This one is for urban buyers in Karachi, Lahore, or Islamabad who drive mostly within the city and have access to home charging. No petrol, no range extender, just quiet, cheap-to-run electric driving.

The A06 targets a segment that has had very few options in Pakistan so far. If priced sensibly, it could open up the electric sedan market for buyers who do not want an SUV.

What This Means for Pakistani Buyers Right Now

Until recently, going electric in Pakistan meant choosing between a handful of expensive imported EVs or waiting indefinitely. July 2026 changes that picture completely. You now have options across almost every segment: a luxury seven-seat SUV (J8 PHEV), a practical family crossover with near-unlimited range (Q05 REEV), a proper off-roader (G318 REEV), and a pure city electric sedan (A06 EV).

The REEV format in particular makes sense for Pakistan right now. The country’s public charging network is still thin outside major cities. A car that can generate its own electricity removes that anxiety entirely, without forcing you to carry the cost and complexity of a large petrol engine under the bonnet permanently.

For anyone considering a new car purchase this year, it is also worth knowing that this is just the July wave. More models follow in August, September, and December. Competition between brands should keep prices competitive over the next six months.

If you want to understand Pakistan’s broader digital and tech economy context, the government’s 10-year digital transformation roadmap also highlights electrification and clean mobility as part of the country’s modernisation push, which helps explain why so many international brands are betting on Pakistan right now.

For the Jaecoo J8 PHEV specifically, you can find detailed specifications on the official Jaecoo J8 Wikipedia page and on Changan’s global site for the Nevo models.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the four electric cars launching in Pakistan in July 2026?

The four are the Jaecoo J8 PHEV (premium seven-seat SUV), Nevo Q05 REEV (C-segment family crossover), Deepal G318 REEV (rugged off-road SUV), and Nevo A06 EV (pure electric mid-size sedan). All four are from Chinese brands.

What is the difference between a REEV and a PHEV?

In a PHEV, the petrol engine can directly drive the wheels as well as charge the battery. In a REEV, the petrol engine only acts as a generator and never drives the wheels. The car is always powered by the electric motor, giving a smoother, quieter ride. For Pakistan’s patchy charging network, REEV models offer the best of both worlds.

What is the expected price of the Jaecoo J8 PHEV in Pakistan?

Official pricing has not been confirmed. Industry estimates place it between Rs 1.3 crore and Rs 2.5 crore depending on the variant, putting it in the luxury SUV segment. Final on-road pricing will depend on import duties and local assembly costs.

Will more electric cars launch in Pakistan after July 2026?

Yes. August is expected to bring the Ora O5 EV, Deepal Hunter K50 REEV, and Avatr 11 EV. September should see the Chery QQ3 EV and Deepal S09 REEV. By December, brands like BYD, Denza, and Avatr are also scheduled to launch. Pakistan’s EV calendar is packed for the rest of 2026.
