Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti inaugurated the province’s first Pink Bus Service in Quetta on Wednesday. He described it as a key step in providing safe, reliable, and dignified public transport for women. The initiative follows previous programs like Pink Scooties, reflecting the government’s focus on women’s empowerment across the region.
Supporting Women in Leadership
During the ceremony, CM Bugti praised the work of women deputy commissioners in various districts. He highlighted that their performance demonstrates women’s ability to manage administrative responsibilities efficiently. The government believes that initiatives like the Pink Bus Service, scholarships, and other development measures will help expand opportunities for women in education, governance, and other sectors.
Promoting Education and Development
CM Bugti emphasized that the government is committed to creating an environment where Baloch women can pursue education, professional growth, and global opportunities. He issued a strong warning against extremist groups attempting to mislead women and push them toward harmful paths. Instead, the government seeks to ensure women are encouraged to achieve success and independence.
Expansion of Public Transport Services
The Chief Minister announced plans to expand the Green Bus Service to Pishin, Mastung, and Turbat. Additionally, the government is introducing electric buses to meet rising public transport needs while reducing environmental pollution. These steps aim to provide safer and greener travel options, improving mobility for residents and supporting sustainable development across Balochistan.
New Train Project for Quetta
Referring to the Quetta–Sariab Peoples Train Project, CM Bugti said the initiative will deliver essential convenience to local residents. The project is part of a broader plan to enhance transport infrastructure and accessibility. Together with the Pink Bus Service and Green Bus expansion, these efforts demonstrate a commitment to modern, inclusive, and environmentally conscious public transportation.
Future of Women’s Empowerment
The launch of the Pink Bus Service marks a significant milestone for women in Balochistan. By combining safe transport, educational initiatives, and development programs, the government aims to create a supportive environment for women. These measures highlight a forward-looking approach that values inclusion, safety, and opportunity for every woman in the province.
