Babar reached his century on the penultimate ball of the innings when he hammered a boundary, completing his century in only 58 deliveries.
Pakistan’s all-format captain broke the record for most T20I centuries by a captain, while also becoming the player with the second-most T20 hundreds.
This was Babar’s ninth T20 century; only West Indian legend Chris Gayle has more, with 22 hundreds to his name. Babar also has the joint-second-most centuries in T20Is, with only Rohit Sharma having four hundreds more.
