On 24 February 2026 President Asif Ali Zardari publicly reprimanded Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab for delays in city development and services. He reportedly gave them a 3 month deadline to show noticeable improvement in Karachi governance and infrastructure performance.
