The Ministry of Information and Telecommunications has collected public and stakeholder feedback on its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy.

According to Ministry of IT sources, the ministry will organise a high-level committee to consider these ideas.
The Artificial Intelligence Policy intends to develop Pakistan into a knowledge-based economy and to foster an ecosystem favourable to the responsible use of AI.

The committee will be made up of ministry and government officials, as well as representatives from industry and academics. The policy committee will analyse these recommendations and consult with relevant stakeholders.
The committee will also make amendments to the drafted Artificial Intelligence Policy. The final draught of IA policy will be forwarded to the Law Ministry for approval.
Draught Of The Policy
The policy draught will be referred to the federal cabinet for approval after receiving clearance from the Law Ministry.
The IT Ministry also solicited feedback from the general public and other stakeholders on this draught.
According to the Ministry of IT and Telecom, the Ministry of IT and Telecom sought the interest of willing AI specialists for consultation on the policy draught and finalisation.
A few artificial intelligence professionals have indicated interest in joining the committee, and their names are also being considered.
The policy seeks to go beyond the meagre strategy of technology adoption. It will radically rethink AI deployment in the local environment in order to identify and intervene in new development areas while keeping the present job market in mind.
