Mercedes-AMG has proudly introduced the next-generation AMG GT Coupé, which serves as the company’s flagship vehicle. This excellent car blends thrilling driving performance with improved everyday use.
Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé
The driving experience is elevated to new heights thanks to cutting-edge innovations such as the AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension with active roll stabilisation, standard rear-axle steering, and dynamic active aerodynamics.
AMG Performance
Notably, the fast coupé debuts the fully adjustable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system, which is combined with the powerful AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine, resulting in an unrivalled driving sensation.
The AMG GT Coupé’s unusual architecture, which incorporates a complicated composite aluminium body structure, allows for a 2+2 seating option. This design choice results in a spacious inside and enough luggage capacity for a sports car in its class.
The new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé, the fifth independent series following the SLS, the first version of the two-door GT, the GT 4-door Coupé, and the SL, highlights the Affalterbach development team’s extraordinary technological prowess.
This extraordinary vehicle will be available in two variants: the AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ Coupé with 430 kW (585 hp) and the AMG GT 55 4MATIC+ Coupé with 350 kW (476 hp).
Both models perform well in terms of efficiency, with combined fuel consumption of WLTP 14.1 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of WLTP 319 g/km.
AMG 4.0-Litre V8 Biturbo Engine Upgrade
The next AMG GT Coupe will have a cutting-edge AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine with two twin-scroll turbochargers.
The Affalterbach facility methodically hand-assembles this powerhouse, adhering to the renowned “One Man, One Engine” credo.
This engine will be available in two performance categories at launch. The GT 63 4MATIC+ is the apex of the series.
Producing 430 kW (585 horsepower) and an outstanding 800 Nm of peak torque across a wide range of engine speeds, from 2,500 to 4,500 rpm. This corresponds to a 3.2-second 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time and a top speed of 315 km/h.
Meanwhile, the GT 55 4MATIC+ model, with 350 kW (476 horsepower) and 700 Nm of torque, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and max out at 295 km/h.
The engine was significantly improved in the pursuit of improving the performance of the AMG GT Coupe. A new oil pan, repositioned intercooler, and active crankcase ventilation are among the changes. Furthermore, input and exit ports have been meticulously optimised to promote more efficient gas exchange.
The exhaust flow routing for the catalytic converter and Otto particle filter system has been expanded, which improves engine economy and performance.
The AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ Coupe’s extraordinary performance has been accomplished principally through increased boost pressure, increased air throughput, and precise engine software adjustments.
This eight-cylinder marvel dazzles with its powerful power delivery, providing significant boost throughout all engine speed ranges while maintaining exceptional economy for low consumption and emissions.
Exterior Design Advancement of the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé:
The Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé external design is a tribute to creativity, and it represents a step ahead in the evolution of current sports car aesthetics.
The addition of optional 2+2 seating has provided designers with an altogether new canvas on which to create a stunning exterior.
The combination of a long wheelbase, short overhangs, and a sharply angled windscreen gives the new AMG GT Coupé a small yet dominating presence.
This harmonic fusion of balanced proportions, an attractive greenhouse, broad wheel arches, and a vibrant frontal demeanour expresses a dual personality—where athleticism and everyday pragmatism combine.
The lateral viewpoint is accentuated by unobtrusive recessed door handles, which are distinguished by sleek, unbroken surfaces devoid of lines.
Meanwhile, the sculpted rear shoulder section provides another layer of charm, emphasising the vehicle’s inherent sports car allure.
The use of virtually flush light-alloy wheels emphasises power and energy, while the active rear spoiler blends smoothly into the expansive tailboard. With its deep and broad posture, the AMG-specific radiator grille draws attention.
The standard DIGITAL LIGHT-equipped headlights emphasise its distinct individuality. The daytime running lights, distinguished by the signature trio of “light dots,” serve as a symbol of recognition.
The interior of the headlights, which is blessed with careful darkened details and brushed textures, emphasises the design’s performance-oriented nature.
The lower air intake adds a feeling of visual breadth to the front-end attraction. Muscular power domes on the bonnet cap the front fascia, resulting in a sporting elegance.
The combination of a small greenhouse, a fastback silhouette, and a large tailboard allows for the creation of a sleek, low-profile rear with an active, deployable spoiler.
The flawlessly sculpted fender trim gives the exterior a dramatic contrast of refinement against the clean, robust surfaces. The prominent shoulder line strikes a perfect balance of refinement and athleticism.
At the back, horizontally linked LED taillights with sharp, precise graphics easily merge into the design, creating a visual harmony with the three-dimensional “light dots” trademark of the front headlights.
These LED taillights, which include normal running light indicators as well as “Coming Home/Leaving Home” animations, blend in seamlessly with the dynamic front.
A unique rear diffuser with integrated twin tailpipe trim completes the finely dynamic rear design—a fitting conclusion to the thrilling story of the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé’s exterior masterpiece.
Interior Design of the Mercedes AMG GT Coupé:
The Mercedes AMG GT Coupé’s interior is a compelling fusion of “hyper analogue” features, effortlessly integrating the essence of classic analogue geometry with the modern digital universe.
This creative design approach is a testament to the vehicle’s high-performance DNA, which has been cleverly translated into a digital setting while constantly evolving.
Every aspect of the interior environment, from materials to craftsmanship, conveys an unrelenting devotion to luxury. In the cockpit layout, a driver-centric attitude reigns supreme, extending to the centre console’s display, everything harmonising to provide a visually remarkable harmony.
The fully digital instrument cluster, in particular, is flawlessly integrated within a three-dimensional visor, encapsulating a real personification of technical sophistication.
