The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the United States has granted Alef Aeronautics special permission to operate flying cars in the country’s airspace. This is the first time in American history that a flying car has been certified.

The FAA is working to develop rules and regulations for these vehicles. According to Alef Aeronautics, their cars can drive on roads as well as fly in the air, allowing them to avoid traffic. The cars have a range of up to 200 miles (322 kilometers) on the road and 110 miles (177 kilometers) in the air.
The FAA is currently developing policies for electrical vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicles, as well as regulations for eVTOL interactions with ground infrastructure. As a result, Alef’s Special Airworthiness Certification restricts the locations and purposes for which Alef may fly.
The Alef Model A can be driven on the road as well as flown over traffic. The vehicle has a driving range of 200 miles (322 kilometers) and a flying range of 110 miles (177 kilometers).
In terms of design, the Alef flying car has a futuristic flowy shape, but nothing too out of the ordinary. It is equipped with eight propellers that are housed inside the body.
The car has enough space for one or two people at most, but the company hopes to build larger flying cars in the future.
