According to a recent report, the federal government has promised that there will be no loadshedding throughout the Eid-ul-Adha festivities. In order to make this call, the Ministry of Energy has asked distribution companies for information on power generation and consumption.
If the government can pull it off, it will help people who have been without power for days in scorching temperatures. Electricity providers have reported a deficit of 6,300 MW.
Government takes measures to control load shedding on Eid
Currently, there is a need for 26,900 MW of electricity but only 20,600 MW of generation. There are 7,900 megawatts coming from the national grid, and another 7,700 megawatts coming from independent power producers.
However, it is important to highlight that nuclear power facilities can only produce 3,130 megawatts of electricity, which only makes the current issue worse.
