Virat Kohli of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) became the first Indian Premier League (IPL) hitter to reach 2,500 runs in a single venue, setting yet another milestone.

Kholi achieved his goal by running 11 times against the Delhi Capitals at Chinnaswamy Stadium. The right-hand hitter also holds the record for most runs scored in a season (973 in the IPL 2016 season).
Virat Kohli has five hundreds and 46 half-centuries to his career, with a highest IPL score of 113.
The 34-year-old is now aiming for 7,000 runs in the IPL. Given his performance, it is not surprising that he will reach that milestone as well this season.
In 2022, the top-order hitter had his worst IPL season, scoring 341 runs at an average of 22.73 in 16 matches. Kholi recorded one of the slowest half-centuries in IPL history during his final summer.
Nonetheless, Kholi made a comeback following his T20I century during India’s 2022 Asia Cup match against Afghanistan.
He bid farewell to 2022 by adding another century to his tally against Bangladesh. In contrast, he welcomed 2023 with scoring 200 in a three-day ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Furthermore, in the last Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Ahmedabad, he ended a long drought of hundreds by scoring 186 against Australia.
Kohli scored 82 on 49 balls and chased 172 in RCB’s season opener against Mumbai Indians at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. He added 148 runs while on the crease with opening partner and skipper Faf du Plessis.
However, at Eden Gardens, RCB experienced a setback when Kholi was only able to make 21 runs on 18 balls, falling short of the goal of 205 against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
In Bengaluru, the star batsman displayed remarkable enthusiasm once more, scoring the tournament’s second half-century just days after inking his name into cricket history.
RCB, like the other IPL clubs, is playing at home. Due to the deadly COVID, the IPL event was relocated from India to the UAE in 2020 and 2021. Hence No IPL team had the advantage of playing at home last year.
