For K-Electric customers, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Friday approved a 58 paisa per unit rise in the cost of electricity.
According to the notification, the regulatory body has approved an increase of 58 paisa per unit in the cost of electricity for consumers as part of the February monthly fuel charge adjustment.
According to a notification, K-Electric requested an increase of Rs. 1.66 per unit for the specified period in an appeal to the regulator.
On March 30, the authority held a public hearing, which was presided over by Chairman NEPRA.
NEPRA Levied FCA Fee
For the month of January, the NEPRA levied an FCA fee of Rs. 1.71 per unit. In comparison to January, the FCA for February would be Rs. 1.13 per unit lower.
The FCA would only be applied for one month and would be recovered from consumers in the invoices for April.
All K-Electric customers, with the exception of lifeline and electric vehicle charging stations, would be subject to the FCA.
