Two TTP terrorists who threatened to attack Parliament House have been apprehended by Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police.
The ICT Police were called in after TTP shared a video of the alleged Margalla Hills Parliament.
Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Inspector General (IG) ICT Police, revealed during a press conference that ICT Police and intelligence agencies collaborated to apprehend the two terrorists.
The IG stated that both terrorists have been placed on physical remand for seven days, adding that their only goal was to install fear in the hearts of citizens because there were no intelligence reports of an attack on Parliament.
Both have been charged in a FIR at the CTD Police Station. They have been charged under Pakistan Penal Code Section 120-B (criminal conspiracy), Anti-Terrorism Act Section 7, Explosive Substances Act Sections 4 and 5, and Arms Ordinance Sections 13, 20, and 65.
Last month, ICT Police saved the capital from a major disaster by apprehending a suicide bomber.
When Head Constable Adeel Hussain approached the terrorist, he set himself off. In the incident, Adeel embraced martyrdom. Adeel has been awarded a Tamgha-e-Shujaat posthumously by the federal government.
