Barwaqt, a Pakistani money app notorious for collecting user data and exploiting users, has finally been taken down from the Google Play Store.
It seems as though several reports of the app’s tragic casualties have finally been taken into consideration.
Currently, searching for the program on Play Store reveals that the connection has been cut.
For those who don’t know, Barwaqt is a Pakistani online credit application that provides a variety of ways to obtain money.
The company claims that customer data is protected, but the application has a history of scandal for capturing users’ names, phone numbers, and email addresses. From there, anything is possible.
The public authority has already forewarned people against this application.
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) had warned computerized lending nonbank financial institutions (NBFCs) of administrative intervention on the off chance that the firm as a whole did not guarantee comprehensive tale and fair strategic policies.
SECP recently held a zoom conference with the CEOs of NBFCs involved in automated lending to discuss recent media concerns about excessive financing costs, withheld information, and coercive selection practices that lending stages are allegedly resorting to.
