In Thailand, Honda has unveiled the 11th generation Civic e:HEV hybrid. The sedan was originally offered in two types, the EL and EL+, both of which used a 1.5L VTEC turbo engine with 176hp and 240Nm of torque and a CVT transmission that supplied power to the front wheels.
The 11th-generation Civic sedan’s e:HEV hybrid version is also available in two variants: the e:HEV EL+ for 1.129 million baht (PKR 65.54 lac) and the e:HEV RS for 1.259 million baht (PKR 65.54 lac) (PKR 73.08 lac). The 11th generation Civic is now available in Thailand in four variations, two non-hybrid and two hybrids.
Honda’s i-MMD (intelligent Multi-Mode Drive) technology is used in the e:HEV hybrid powertrain, which comprises of a front-wheel electric motor with 182 horsepower (135 kW) and 315 Nm. The electric motor is powered by a lithium-ion battery and is assisted by a 2.0L naturally aspirated Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine with its own electric motor that serves as a generator.
While the system is designed to function as an electric vehicle most of the time, it can also give direct drive through a lock-up clutch at high speeds when it is more efficient. There are three driving modes to select from (Econ, Normal, and Sport), with a combined fuel economy of 25 km/liter.
The Honda Civic e:HEV has 17-inch wheels (EL+) or 18-inch wheels (RS), blued Honda emblems, chrome window trims, door handles, and front grille garnish, e:HEV badging, hybrid-specific displays, rear air vents, and 60:40 split-folding rear seats as standard equipment.
LED lighting, keyless entry and start, dual-zone climate control, powered front seats, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a Qi wireless phone charger, Honda Smart Key Card, Honda Connect, eight speakers, leather/suede upholstery, and remote engine start are among the additional standard features.
