Display & Design
The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra has a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 400ppi pixel density, a resolution of 1,116 x 2,480 px, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and an under-display fingerprint scanner.
A new UDC Pro chip powers the display, which features a new sub-pixel arrangement over the selfie camera, making the area more uniform and less apparent when viewed from different angles.
This is significant because the Axon 30’s selfie camera was not completely invisible and could be seen at the appropriate angle.
The Axon 40 Ultra’s 10-bit display features 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage and a peak brightness of 1,500 nits with high-frequency PWM dimming at 1,440 Hz.

It has a massive 36,356 mm2 vapor chamber to keep things cool. The phone has a USB Type-C port for charging and audio output.

The ultra-wide module includes a 16 mm lens (f/2.35) with autofocus and can capture macro shots up to 4cm away. At the back, there’s also a 3D ToF sensor for focus help and a flicker sensor.
The phone can shoot 8K films with all three of its cameras and keep them active at the same time, allowing users to switch between focal lengths immediately.
The selfie camera, on the other hand, has a 16MP sensor with 1.12 m pixels.
