Message editing is a feature that has been available on competing apps for years, so it’s no surprise that WhatsApp is working on adding it. The current beta version of WhatsApp Web brings us one step closer to regaining access to that feature.
The web-based app’s beta users have full access to the feature. It’s important to remember that WhatsApp Web is different from the Desktop version. The former is a web-based service, whereas the latter is a desktop application for computers with dedicated hardware.
WhatsApp web have full control over this feature
The website’s beta version 2.2319.9 introduces the ability to modify any message by holding down on it. However, the app is also imposing a 15-minute time limit for editing messages so that users may only make changes to a sent message during that time frame. Within that time frame, a message can be edited as many times as you like.
This upgrade is currently only available on Web, but it will soon roll out to phones as well. This is because the feature is in its last stages of development and will be ready to go soon, as seen by the current Android beta version.
Considering its significance, it need to show up on iOS devices as quickly as possible.
