WhatsApp is constantly adding new features in order to provide the most advanced and smooth user experience possible.
WhatsApp four new features
The four new features updated, according to WaBetaInfo, include silencing unknown callers, editing sent messages, mention groups in community announcement groups, and community entry points.
The upgrade is currently only available to beta users, but it is expected to be made available to everyone in the coming weeks.
Edit Messages
One of the most useful new features is the ability to edit sent messages within 15 minutes. According to WaBetaInfo, this time constraint is added to maintain the “integrity of conversations.”
Unknown Calls Silence
By changing the settings, WhatsApp users can now muffle unknown callers. Navigate to the ‘privacy’ and ‘calls’ settings. This update improves security and reduces spam calls.
Mentions in Groups
Administrators of community groups can now mention groups, which greatly improves communication with community members.
Entry Community Option
A new option in the header allows you to open the community announcement group right away. Furthermore, you can create a group directly by clicking the app-tracking website.
While Beta-Users have access to all of these advanced features, everyone is waiting for updates to be made available for all versions.
Message editing is a feature that has been available on competing apps for years, so it’s no surprise that WhatsApp is working on adding it. The current beta version of WhatsApp Web brings us one step closer to regaining access to that feature.
The web-based app’s beta users have full access to the feature. It’s important to remember that WhatsApp Web is different from the Desktop version. The former is a web-based service, whereas the latter is a desktop application for computers with dedicated hardware.
WhatsApp web have full control over this feature
The website’s beta version 2.2319.9 introduces the ability to modify any message by holding down on it.
However, the app is also imposing a 15-minute time limit for editing messages so that users may only make changes to a sent message during that time frame. Within that time frame, a message can be edited as many times as you like.
This upgrade is currently only available on Web, but it will soon roll out to phones as well. This is because the feature is in its last stages of development and will be ready to go soon, as seen by the current Android beta version.
