Russian President Vladimir Putin has taken the oath of office in the Andreyevsky Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace, marking the start of his fifth term.
Putin promised to serve another six years as president of Russia by placing his hand on the constitution.
Despite some Western countries boycotting the ceremony due to concerns about the election’s fairness, Putin, aged 71, delivered a speech emphasising unity and determination to confront challenges together.
In his speech, Putin expressed confidence that they would complete their plans and achieve national success.
According to foreign media reports, Putin is serving his fifth term as president, having been sworn in for the first time in May 2000.
