An alarming increase in the mosquito-borne disease has been recorded. Which reported on Thursday that 16 new cases of dengue have been detected across the province of Punjab in a single day.
Fourteen cases of dengue fever were reported in Punjab in a span of twenty-four hours. According to the Punjab health department.
According to the department, there are currently three individuals located at Kalar Saidan hospitals. And two individuals located in Taxila hospitals.
Fifty complaints were filed against individuals who violated the standard operating procedures for dengue. And they were fined forty thousand rupees.
A viral disease that is transmitted by mosquitoes and has experienced fast spread in recent years. All over the world is known as dengue virus.
Mosquitoes, specifically females of the species Aedes aegypti and to a lesser extent, Aedes albopictus, are the primary vectors for the transmission of the dengue virus.
Symptoms for Dengue
Dengue should be detected when a high fever (40°C/104°F) is accompanied by two of the following symptoms during the febrile period:
- Severe headache
- Pain behind the eyes
- Muscle and joint pains
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Swollen glands
- Rash
