The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has warned that heatwaves are predicted to hit Punjab during the current month of April.
The authority has encouraged the public to take the required precautions. Pakistan has been dealing with a number of climate-related issues, and it is regarded as one of the top ten countries in the world most sensitive to unpredictable weather patterns.
According to the PDMA, the intensity of heat is likely to increase significantly in April, with temperatures rising somewhat higher than the 30-year average.
“Heatwaves may occur in the Punjab plains. Heatwaves will have a greater impact on major cities, according to the PDMA.
The PDMA has also warned that severe winds, dust storms, heavy rain, and hail are predicted to hit the region. These downpours could cause flooding in waterways.
According to the announcement, PDMA Punjab Director-General Irfan Ali Kathia has urged the local authorities to keep attentive for seasonal changes.
“Rescue organizations and district administration should buckle up now. Citizens should also be made aware of weather changes and precautionary measures.”
