Millions of users of the messaging service Telegram can now subscribe for a $4.99/month premium tier.
Users receive new and improved features with the premium model. The boost in upload size to 4GB is one advantage of the premium tier.
The concept also enables faster file downloads for the user.
Additionally, it now allows users to add a fourth account (instead of just three), follow up to 1000 channels, create up to 20 chat folders with 200 messages each, pin up to 10 chats, and store up to 10 favorite stickers.
The user can access premium sticker sets, unique emoji reactions, and animated profile images with the premium subscription.
To make communication simpler, it also offers the option of voice-to-text discussion.
Some of the new capabilities will be accessible to non-premium users, according to The Verge.
Additionally, they have access to premium stickers and emojis as well as larger files supplied by subscribers.
The company will be able to raise money through the subscription model to develop and grow the platform for all users.
“The contributions of premium subscribers will help improve and expand the app for decades to come, while Telegram will remain free, independent and uphold its users-first values, redefining how a tech company should operate,” the company wrote in a statement.
