The Tecno Pop 8 is the latest addition to Tecno‘s entry-level Pop series. This device replaces the Pop 7 and includes several notable improvements such as a 90Hz display, improved cameras, and increased RAM and storage capacity.
Tecno’s Pop series
The Pop 8 has a 6.6-inch 720p LCD display with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. It has an 8MP front-facing camera nestled within a punch-hole cutout, as well as dual flash units on top.
Tecno has also introduced its Dynamic Port feature, which, like the iPhone’s Dynamic Island, uses the area surrounding the punch-hole cutout to provide useful notifications, charging status, and call information.
The T606 chipset from Unisoc powers the device, along with 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of expandable storage via the microSD card slot.
On the software front, it runs Android 13 (Go edition), and the battery capacity is 5,000 mAh, with 10W charging support.
A 13MP primary camera and an AI camera are located on the back. Notably, there’s a third cutout that houses an LED flash, as well as a smaller flash just above it.
Mystery White, Alpenglow Gold, Magic Skin, and Gravity Black are among the colours available for the Tecno Pop 8.
Pricing and availability information have not yet been released, but leaks indicate an initial price point of around $85 in India. It will almost certainly cost a little more in other areas.
