Motorola is releasing a number of phones, the majority of which will be flagship phones in the Edge series. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip will be used in the Edge X/30 Ultra, while the Snapdragon 888+ will be used in the Edge 30.
Digital Chat Station, a popular tipster, has recently revealed that a third Motorola phone is on the way. It will be the first Motorola phone to include a selfie camera that is hidden beneath the display.
The ZTE Axon 20 pioneered the UD selfie camera trend. It was soon followed by the Xiaomi Mix 4, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, and ZTE’s own Axon 30, which was an upgraded version.
Because the front-facing camera is nearly invisible, the UD camera technology delivers a true full-screen experience on smartphones. However, while it maximizes screen real estate, it does so at the expense of camera quality. Although with post-processing, the photographs are mediocre and do not appear optimal.
This is why this technology has yet to gain widespread adoption.
We’ll have to wait and see if Motorola can improve the technology with its next phone. The tipster hasn’t said what the phone’s name is or which lineup it will be in. By the end of the year, expect to learn more about this strange phone.
