Ten Galaxy Z Flip5 phones are up for grabs in a promotion launched by Samsung Romania that runs from July 26 to August 2.
They accidentally uploaded a PDF of the terms and conditions as part of the promotion, revealing the cost of the freebies.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Leaked Price
According to the paper, the 256 GB Samsung Z Flip5 is priced at RON 6,599. This is roughly equivalent to €1,335. Comparatively speaking, the new model is 16% more expensive than last year’s 256 GB Z Flip 4, which had a debut price of RON 5,700.
Prior to this, there have been a few leaks: one from Greece listed the 128 GB model at a similar price of €1,300, and another from France claimed the 256 GB model would cost €1,200, which would be a little rise over the Z Flip 4 256 GB’s pricing of €1,170 last year.
It is important to remember that VAT rates differ amongst EU nations: they are 19% in Romania, 24% in Greece, and 20% in France. Despite this, there is a definite variation in the prices that have leaked.
For the 256 GB variant, the Romanian leak predicts a pre-VAT pricing of €1,120, while the French leak suggests €1,000. The smaller 128 GB version would cost €1,050 before VAT, according to the Greek leak.
The difference in price between the 128 GB and 256 GB models of €70 (before VAT) appears reasonable, however this makes the French pricing for the 256 GB device appear strangely low.
The intended date for the official unveiling is July 26. While we’re at it, let’s not forget that the French leak also indicated a more significant price hike for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 (€100-120), however neither Romania nor Greece have yet confirmed this information.
