After launching the samsung self-repair program in the United States last year and expanding it to South Korea last month, Samsung has now brought the program to Europe, with plans to launch it in Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom by the end of June.
Samsung Galaxy self-repair program
The program is currently available for the three previous generations of S-series flagships, the Galaxy S20, S21, and S23, with replacement screens, back panels, and charging connectors. It’s worth noting that the screen replacement kit includes a new battery as well.
A set of tools needed to disassemble the phone can be purchased for less than €30. A new charging port for a Galaxy S20 costs €50, the back panel costs roughly the same, and an official display costs €200.
Parts for higher-end models are more expensive, as are parts for newer models; for example, an S22 Ultra screen costs €310. Parts prices in Germany can be found here.
Samsung has instructional videos that will walk you through the process of removing the old part and replacing it (as well as all the steps in between).
Aside from phones, the self-repair program includes the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 laptops. Case front, case back, display, battery, touchpad, power key with fingerprint reader, and rubber feet are all available.
Samsung is collaborating with authorized distributors such as ASWO and 2Service to handle repair kit sales and distribution.
The self-repair program is already available in some countries, but others (for example, the United Kingdom) will have to wait until the end of the month for parts.
Also, if you’re wondering why there aren’t any parts for the Galaxy S23 series, it’s most likely because they’re still brand new and under warranty.
However, parts for the S23 trio should be added soon. The S22 phones were also not included in the initial launch in the United States; they were added later this year.
