Realme has secretly introduced another low-cost phone in its home market ahead of its big showcase on April 20. The Realme Q5i, as the name suggests, is a less expensive variant of the impending Q5 Pro.
The Q5 Pro is rumoured to include the high-end Snapdragon 870 chip, but the Q5i will have the more modest Dimensity 810.
Design and Display
The Q5i boasts a 6.58-inch AMOLED screen with 1080p resolution and a steady refresh rate of 90Hz up front.
The front-facing camera is contained in a waterdrop notch, while the back panel is textured. The fingerprint sensor is located on the right side of the device, atop the power button.
Storage and Internals
The internals are driven by MediaTek’s mid-range Dimensity 810 processor, which is paired with 4/6GB RAM and 128GB of built-in storage, which can be upgraded through a microSD card.
Realme UI 3.0 is installed on top of Android 12.
Cameras
At the back, there are only two cameras: a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth camera. There’s no news on video recording capabilities, but this camera array should be able to capture 1080p and 4K video recordings.
The selfie camera with the waterdrop notch has an 8MP wide-angle lens.
Battery
The large 4,800 mAh battery supports 33W fast charging for speedy recharges.
The Realme Q5i will be available in Black and Blue and will start at $188. For the time being, the phone is exclusively accessible in China, and there is no indication on international distribution.
