The crescent of Ramadan 2024 has been sighted in many cities across Pakistan, signalling the start of the holy month on March 12.
The Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will make the formal statement regarding Ramadan 2024.
The committee meeting is now place in Peshawar. The committee will make the declaration after reviewing evidence of moon sightings from all zonal committees.
In a separate development, the Establishment Division has announced office hours for federal employees during the holy month.
According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division, federal government institutions will henceforth open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., five days a week.
The announcement also stated that office hours, with six working days per week, will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Federal government offices will be open on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
