Punjab’s Local Government Minister, Zeeshan Rafique, has announced an ambitious plan to establish ten recycling plants across the province’s divisions.
The goal is to convert garbage into energy and compost, in accordance with current waste disposal standards.
Suthra Punjab Program
As part of the “Suthra Punjab Programme,” this initiative seeks to transform waste management practices in both rural and urban areas.
The provincial minister stated that the success of the first phase prompted the simultaneous launch of the second and third phases.
The second phase focuses on providing equitable municipal services in both rural and urban areas. A worker will be assigned to every 250 households to clean the streets, collect garbage, and maintain the sewage system.
