The distribution of Ramadan Nigehban Cards in Punjab is moving much more slowly than planned. Many deserving families are still waiting for support as the holy month approaches. Reports show that only 285000 cards have been delivered out of the 3000000 planned. This gap has raised serious concerns about delays in the program.
Officials shared that more than 1700000 cards have already been printed. Out of these, over 1100000 cards have reached deputy commissioners’ offices across the province. However, the main issue lies in the final step. While the cards are available at government offices, the process of handing them over to families is not progressing as expected.
The Punjab government had set a clear target of distributing 100000 cards daily. This goal was meant to ensure that families receive assistance before Ramadan begins. Unfortunately, the daily distribution rate has remained uneven, slowing down overall progress.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took notice of the situation on Tuesday. She directed officials to speed up the delivery process and ensure that help reaches those in need without further delay. Authorities are now under pressure to improve coordination and meet the set targets.
Distribution Progress Overview
| Stage | Number of Cards |

| Printed | 1,700,000+ |

The coming days will be crucial. Faster action can still help thousands of families receive timely support during Ramadan.
