Due to the possibility of terrorist attacks, the United Kingdom (UK) has issued a new travel advisory for the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
UK Govt. Issued Advisory of Possible Terrorist Attacks in UAE
The British government has issued a statement advising citizens to ‘maintain a high level of security awareness, particularly in public places and at public events.’
The United Kingdom recently updated its travel advice for the Gulf country, stating that the “risk of terrorist attacks occurring in the UAE is very likely.”
Attacks Threats
Terrorists continue to issue threats to carry out attacks in the Gulf region, including references to attacks on Western interests, according to the British Foreign Office.
The most recent travel advice makes no mention of the ongoing clashes between Israel and Hamas, in which thousands of innocent Palestinians have died.
It does, however, mention several terror attacks, such as when drones were launched into the UAE from Yemen in early 2022, targeting infrastructure and high-profile locations.
British Local Media Reports
In the event of an attack, UK citizens have been advised to monitor local media reports and follow the advice of local authorities.
Furthermore, the British Foreign Office has urged its citizens to obtain travel insurance and ensure that it provides adequate coverage.
Visitors to the Gulf country are also advised to check entry requirements and restrictions.
It is important to note that no warnings are currently in effect for any region of the UAE.
