Rana Sanaullah, the interior minister of Pakistan, recently visited Iraq for four days at the invitation of Abdul Amir Al-Sabri, his counterpart in Iraq, according to News Agency.
The journey was intended to strengthen ties between the two countries and progress several areas of cooperation.
Minister Rana met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani to discuss potential areas of collaboration.
By resolving to work together on defense and counterterrorism efforts, the two leaders reinforced their commitment to overcoming common challenges.
During the visit, the Prime Minister of Iraq made an important development by deciding to eliminate visa fees for Pakistani pilgrims. This implies that Pakistanis won’t be charged a visa fee if they visit Iraq for religious purposes.
The meetings’ outcome was also favorable for Pakistani investors. They will soon be able to invest and conduct business in Iraq thanks to electronic visa (e-visa) alternatives.
The release of Pakistanis held in Iraq for very minor offenses has been urged upon by the prime minister of Iraq.
During the visit, Minister Rana did so in addition to praising the Iraqi Interior Minister for assisting Pakistani pilgrims.
