Zaka Ashraf, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has stated his hope for improved ties between Pakistan and India in the sport of cricket. He told the press that he hoped the PCB will work with the Indian cricket board to improve ties between the two countries.
Similar to the Ashes series, Ashraf has proposed a Jinnah-Gandhi series to celebrate cricket’s history. The potential for sports diplomacy could be represented by this series.

Ashraf also announced that Babar Azam will lead the Men in Green at the 2023 World Cup. Mickey Arthur will remain in his role as Director of Cricket for Pakistan, and the team will be accompanied in India by Grant Bradburn as head coach and Morne Morkel as bowling coach.
It’s worth noting that last year, previous PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja had the same idea of having Australia or England play in a tri-nation series with Pakistan and India. The Melbourne Cricket Club expressed an interest in hosting a Test series between Pakistan and India at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) earlier this year.
In 2012–13, the two countries competed in a bilateral white-ball series, while in 2007–2008, they competed in a bilateral red-ball series.
