Former cricketer Mohammad Hafeez has been named as the Chief Selector of the national squad by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee.
After the current two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, the former captain is most likely to take over as Chief Selector, according to media reports.
Mohammad Hafeez Offered Chief Selector Position
It was stated earlier this month that Mohammad Hafeez has been given the chance to take on the position of chief selector for the national team by Zaka Ashraf.
The former cricketer and the newly appointed interim chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board met for the aim of discussing the offer.
But according to reports, the cricketer declined the offer and asked for more time to think about it because of his other obligations.
Along with Hafeez, it was claimed that the PCB had positions open for cricket players Younis Khan, Mohsin Khan, Saleem Yousuf, and Shoaib Akhtar.
It is important to note that Ashraf was formally named the chairman of the recently constituted management committee earlier this month by the federal government.
This choice was taken following the distribution of a summary giving the 10-member committee a four-month mandate to manage the PCB’s operations.
