Green Shirts visit India after 7 Years
The Press Trust of India confirmed the development, stating that this is Pakistan’s first visit to the neighboring country in seven years. The Green Shirts previously visited India for the T20 World Cup in 2016.
Visas Issued for Pakistan Team
After numerous delays, the Indian government issued visas to the Pakistan squad on Monday. The development came after the PCB expressed concerns about the visa issue in a letter to the International Cricket Council.
The World Cup will be held in India from October 5 to November 19. Pakistan’s first match in the tournament is scheduled for October 6 against the Netherlands in Hyderabad, while the highly anticipated match against archrival India is scheduled for October 14 in Ahmedabad.
The national team will play two warm-up games: one against New Zealand on September 29 and one against Australia on October 3.
Previously, the team was supposed to leave for Dubai on September 25 and stay for two days.
Announcement of Chief Selector
Cricket Chief Selector Inzamamul Haq announced the 15-man squad for the mega tournament last week. It includes Hasan Ali, but not star pacer Naseem Shah, who was injured in the Asia Cup.
Bowlers Faheem Ashraf, who was part of the Asia Cup squad, and Mohammad Hasnain are also notable omissions.
